I
have been involved in the project to make most Lincolnshire marriages 1837-1870 available online and the
middle link below will take you to the work
currently completed.
These marriage indexes contain the names
of bride and groom, their fathers, full date and the name of the parish. All
information is transcribed from the parish registers deposited at the
Lincolnshire Archives (registers that have not been deposited at Lincolnshire
Archives are therefore not included). The indexes do not contain any Register
Office marriages, and there are few non-conformist marriages at present.
Some of the Grantham District marriages which I
have indexed are not yet available online and may be viewed by following the
first link below. The file is an Excel spreadsheet and is in two parts, the
first part indexed by groom's name and the second part by bride's surname.
Where the spelling in the signature clearly differs from the register entry,
both versions are indexed.
The parishes covered are Great Gonerby,
Haceby, Pickworth, Sapperton, Somerby, Stoke Rochford, Stragglethorpe and
Stubton (Somerby register is in
the old style and fathers' names were not recorded).
If you do not have Excel installed, you will
need to download the Excel viewer.
